Ways To Make Your Day To Day Back Discomfort Less Painful

back-pain-1

Back pain can be brought about through various everyday activities such as driving for extended periods of time, vacuuming or carrying small children. Whether you have upper, mid, or low back pain, you should not ignore the symptoms.  If ignored, it can possibly cause further degeneration to your back.

Sitting for extended periods of time can tighten your back muscles and possibly cause muscle spasms.  For example, many people commute from Brandon, Valrico, Lithia, Fishhawk and Riverview area to Tampa, Plant City, and Lakeland for work 5 days a week.  The time spent on the road can run anywhere from 1 hour to an hour and a half. The mental stress of driving on the highways can cause back muscles to spasm or further cause numbness, tingling, and pain travelling down the leg which is called sciatica.

Repetitive use of muscles can cause soreness or pain.  Household chores such as vacuuming, folding laundry, and washing dishes can irritate your back muscles.  Some patients complain of sharp- stabbing back pain. Back pain can radiate from the upper back down to low back.

A parent’s pain is ignored when caring for their children.  Carrying a toddling on your hip can cause pain in the back. Usually parents use the same hip as a comfort but irritation to the pelvis, hip, ribs, and spine can be caused. Irritation can consist of stiffness, soreness, aching, burning, shooting, tightness, and throbbing pain.
